Medallia LivingLens user roles (licenses) are applied on a channel by channel basis for each user. User roles control what functionality a user has access to. Add On roles provide access to specific screens and additional functionality.

The exception is the Customer Admin user role, which automatically provides the user access to every channel in the Customer group.

See the following sections for additional details about user roles:

Customer Admin and Channel Admin users can see their organization's user roles via User management. In the platform, there are visual cues to help a user role identify their role in a channel. For more information, see Identifying a channel user role.

  • Mobile — User can access a channel's Mobile screen. See Mobile. Not available for Standard users. Exception is Customer Admin, which automatically has Mobile permission on every channel in the customer group.

  • Shared Content only — User can only access media selected as Shared. See Shared Content.

  • Shareable Links Creator — User can create a Shareable link for any media item in the channel. See Shareable links. Exception is Customer Admin, which automatically has Shareable Links Creator permission on every channel in the customer group.

Identifying a channel user role

To identify which user role you have for a specific channel, contact your organization's Customer Admin.

Alternatively, use functionality and visual cues to identify which user role you have in a channel.

Standard

Standard users have search and view only access. Media Library is the only button in the top banner, unless an Add On role such as Analytics is also allocated.

Pro

Pro users have access to a channel's showreel editor via the Showreels tab.

Channel Admin

Channel Admins can view the channels users and have access to the Users tab.

Analytics Add on

If the Analytics Add On role is allocated for the channel, the Analytics tab is available.

Mobile Add on

If the Mobile Add On role is allocated for the channel, the Mobile tab is available.
