To upload a video, audio, or image file.

Tip: Internet speed impacts upload time. A strong, stable internet connection speed is helpful to upload large size files.

Tip: When uploading multiple large size files, best practice is to connect your computer to an Ethernet/wired connection before uploading media.

Before you begin, ensure you are in the channel you want to upload media to.

  1. Click on the carrot icon to the left of the channel title and select Uploads.

  2. Click New Upload.

  3. On the New Upload screen, click Upload Media to find the file to upload.

  4. Once the media begins uploading, the platform estimates the time until upload completion.

  5. Fill out all mandatory fields designated with a red star.

    1. The file title automatically populates the media Title. Edit as needed. Title has a 75 character maximum.

    2. Select the spoken language of the media from the Language menu.

    3. Select the media Country of origin.

  6. Fill out optional fields as needed.

    1. Description. A Description has a 600 character maximum.

    2. Tags

  7. Select Filters for the media by clicking the Filters Editor.

  8. Audio & Video only: Select a Transcription solution. Note: Select Speaker Separation to order this formatting for supported languages.

If the media has a corresponding .SRT or .VTT subtitle file, upload it by selecting Subtitle Upload.

Important: Human transcription incurs additional cost. Contact your Medallia Representative for pricing information.

  9. Audio & Video only: Select a Translation solution if applicable.

Important: Human translation incurs additional cost. Contact your Medallia Representative for pricing information.

  10. Once the file completes its initial upload and you have filled out all mandatory fields, click Save Upload to upload the media to the channel. Processing time is dependent on media file size; longer video takes longer to process.

Note: The Media Cannot Be Empty message appears if the upload times out. Begin from Step 3 to re-select the file and retry initial upload.

Media processing

After upload, media processes to appear in the channel. While media is processing, its Media Library thumbnail image is grey with the message Processing Media...

The media player on the Media View page is grey with the message Media Is Processing...

Once media has finished its initial processing, a thumbnail image appears and the media is playable. If transcription and translation were ordered, and if the channel is set to process media for cognitive analytics, this data will appear shortly thereafter.
